Paintings 2018-2019
These works depict an ongoing exploration of the theme of the surface, through the implementation of specific materials. This creates an oscillation between the representation of something and that something as itself.
When approaching a topic, the process is central.
My works are merely a by-product of this process, not specifically its goal.
Processes determine themselves as long and inherently natural phenomena: erosion, decay, disintegration, secretion, cohesion, and dissolution. Hence, the works emerging are not reproducible and yet, not concerned with originality.
Thanks to the chemical properties of the materials used, the work is perpetual. Therefore they are not a result but rather a current insight in an enduring occurrence.
